REGISTER FOR PROGRAMS
Reading Log and Folder:
Every child (ages 3 & up) who visits the Library this summer may sign up for the Summer Reading Program. All program participants will set a goal for how much reading they hope to complete during the summer and receive a special folder containing a Reading Log and Activity Sheet. A child may sign up at any point between June 26 and August 21.

Reading Log
Children will record the time that they spend reading in their Reading Log. (Both time spent listening to books being read aloud and independent reading may be recorded.) Every time a child visits the Library during the summer, and presents their Reading Log to Library staff, they will get to choose a small prize — as long as their Reading Log indicates that they have done additional reading since the previous time they presented their Log at the Library. (The child does not have to read a certain amount in order to receive a prize.)

Activity Sheet
The (completely optional) Activity Sheet presents activity ideas for children. If a child completes one activity in every category by the end of the summer, they will receive an extra prize. We would love to see all of the special projects that children are inspired to produce to complete the activities!

Participant Congratulations
The reading goal is a personal incentive only and there are no prizes associated with achieving it. All children who sign up for the Program and visit the Library with their Reading Logs (at least once) are invited to the Catch the Reading Bug Congratulations Pizza Party in Law Park. The children will receive special certificates, enjoy pizza, a raffle and a game. It will be held from 4:30 - 5:30 pm on August 21, 2008. Registration is required. register online now note: you are not officially registered until you have received confirmation from library staff
